From the MarkPlus Conference 09

I’ve been waiting for this excitement and have prepared my body and soul for it hehe. Dan it works!

Insya Allah uang berputar cukup besar gara-gara pemilu. 2009 is about overtaking your competitor at a risky corner!

Presentasi dari Mr. Ron Kaufman from Up Your Service juga mengesankan. Dia menekankan soal inti dari marketing: make something to remember. Yang jelas, I remember his brand sampai sekarang meskipun beliau bicara kurang dari 1 jam. Gimana bisa lupa? Tulisan dan logo Up Your Service is everywhere in his presentation :D Banyak hal-hal menarik yang beliau sampaikan dalam slide, tapi dia ngomong cepat sekali sambil bilang, “Watch Carefully!”. Trus dia tanya, “Dari slide-slide tadi, apa kesamaannya?”. Bengong deh. “Logo di atas slide itu yang sama!” Gubrak. “Itulah Marketing.” OOoooOOOoo.

After morning break yang lezat banget, lanjut ke break out session. Akibatnya telat naik and begitu sampe, break out session yang saya sama unwinged tuju malah dah penuh and jadi berdiri. Wajar ya, topiknya menarik. “Integrating Offline & Online Community“. Pembicaranya banyak! Yang paling menarik of course Andy F. Noya from Kick Andy.

Konsep website Kick Andy dirubah hingga menjadi ‘horizontal’ alias community based. Now, that’s community building!

Selain Pak Andy, saya juga mendengar insight dari Harley Davidson community, Yamaha Community, XL Community, dan YukMakan.com Portal by Summarecon. Very interesting sharing!

Setelah selesai baca salah satu artikel di majalah itu, ntar di bawahnya ada tulisan kira-kira begini For More Pictures Check Out NG Website atau Read Behind the Scene Experience From The Photographer on NG Website. Smart!

Setelah itu break makan siang. Delicious food, destroy my so-called-bride-to-be-diet haha. Abis makan lanjut break out session lagi. Saya milih Many to Many Marketing by Pak Yuswohady. Pak Yuswohady membicarakan tentang bagaimana caranya terjun ke horizontalisasi. More about it baca bukunya yang baru di-launching kemarin: CROWD: Marketing Becomes Horizontal. I promise you it’s a good book.

Lanjut break out session ke topic ‘Woman Marketing‘. Ada pembicara dari Gramedia Majalah dan Anlene. Of course they’re good and everything, but I got bored. Kata Unwinged di bagian ‘Youth Marketing’ seru banget membahas KFC. Ya gpp de, masih untung dapet ilmu haha (orang Jawa banget, we’re still lucky phrase).

Setelah istirahat, lanjut dengan Indonesia Market Outlook for 2009. Nggak ngerti sama angka and everything. Pas lagi asik bengong, ditelepon sama Mas Bembi from MarkPlus. Katanya saya menang New Wave Marketing Competition yang bagian Picture @Flickr. Langsung teriak-teriak deh. Kapan pengumumannya?? I clearly missed it! Hihi dapet HP Nokia 3500 deh. Alhamdulillah.

Wah kayaknya Kompas Entertainment bisa memenuhi my guilty pleasure needs: Daily Dose of Gossips hehe.

Dari Talk Show dilanjutkan dengan peluncuran buku ‘New Wave Marketing‘ by Hermawan Kartajaya, research by Mas Bembi. It’s also a good book, you must buy at Kutukutubuku.com dong.

After the conference, foto bareng sama Pak Hermawan Kartajaya and dapet tanda tangan juga di buku hihi azig!

Overall, I had a great time. New Wave Marketing is not a new thing for me, been there done that for couple of years with Kutukutubuku.com. But of course this conference is not for me only. So happy that Mr. Hermawan Kartajaya has raised the awareness of the New Wave importance, so that it’s easier to explain to prospects on what’s going on. I got couple of ideas and will happily implement them at my business unit. Thank you very much for the free ticket (valued IDR 800.000) and it’s worth every rupiahs.
